Pyongyang - Saba:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow warns the United States and its allies against creating security threats. Russia and North Korea.
Russian news agencies reported that this came in statements made by Lavrov to reporters following his talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Song-hee in Pyongyang on Saturday.
Lavrov said that the North Korean leadership had reached appropriate conclusions long before the Israeli-American strikes against Iran, and "precisely for this reason—that these conclusions were reached in a timely manner—no one thought about using force against the DPRK, despite the ongoing military buildup around it involving the United States, South Korea, and Japan."
He added that Russia warns the United States, South Korea, and Japan against misusing their relations to build alliances directed against any party, including the DPRK and Russia.
The Russian minister emphasized that Moscow understands the reasons that drove Pyongyang to implement its nuclear program and respects its measures, noting that "the technologies used by the DPRK are the product of the work of its scientists."
Lavrov said that Russia and the DPRK consider attempts by actors from outside the region to create a network of narrow alliances in Northeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole, as well as to deploy a nuclear infrastructure. NATO's presence there is a dangerous matter.
He added, "We believe it is important to work to establish reliable mechanisms to ensure equal and indivisible security for all countries in the region, mechanisms that do not rely on the logic of blocs."
Lavrov emphasized that cooperation between Russia and North Korea contributes to stabilizing the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Regarding North Korea's role in the special military operation, Lavrov said that Russia had no reason to refuse Pyongyang's assistance in the special operation, as it was a sincere expression of solidarity.
Lavrov noted that "the issue of providing further assistance to Russia in the special military operation in Ukraine is decided by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un himself, while Moscow responds to Kim Jong Un's proposals regarding the form and direction of assistance in the special operation."
Lavrov emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un are in constant contact, expressing his confidence in the possibility of personal meetings between them in the future.
Regarding the prospects for reducing tensions between Pyongyang and Washington, Lavrov said, "We and our friends have heard statements by US President Donald Trump about the need to resume contacts between the United States and North Korea, including at the highest level, but that's where it stops."
He added, "Regarding relations between North Korea and Seoul, we will only work in ways that are acceptable to North Korea and those that interest it. It (Pyongyang) is our ally, and we will proceed from there."
