Hajjah - Saba:
The Red Crescent team clinched the title of the Martyr Sharaf Al-Kahlani Football Championship in Hajjah Province.
The Red Crescent secured the championship, organized by Al-Nasr Club and the local football association branch under the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office in the province , with the participation of eight teams. They claimed victory in the final against the Martyr Abu Abdal team with a score of 2-1.
Abu Abdal took the lead with a goal by striker Musfar Raziq, but the Red Crescent quickly equalized with a stunning scissor-kick goal by rising star Waaed Al-Yamani just one minute later, ending the first half at 1-1.
In the second half, both teams pushed for a decisive goal, and the Red Crescent succeeded when striker Hashim Dokel, the tournament’s best player, scored the winning goal five minutes before the final whistle.
The match was officiated by referee Akram Hameed, with assistants Moeen Bakhit and Emad Al-Ward, Abdullah Al-Shatir as the fourth official, and Mohammed Al-Khadri as the match observer.
At the closing ceremony, Governorate Deputy Dr. Taha Al-Hamzi commended the efforts in organizing the tournament in honor of martyr Al-Kahlani, the founder and first president of Al-Nasr Club, stressing the importance of such competitions in elevating sports standards.
The champions and runners-up were honored, along with the tournament’s best player Hashim Dokel, best goalkeeper Mansour Al-Dalh, top scorer Maamar Al-Hanaki (with six goals), and most promising player Muneer Zahrat. The family of the martyr was also honored, with his brother Ali Al-Kahlani receiving the championship shield on their behalf.
The final match and closing ceremony were attended by the head of the Sports Teams Federation, Abdulwahab Bakhit, Yemeni Volleyball Federation member Mustafa Al-Raeini, tournament supervisor Amer Al-Shatbi, and various sports and community figures.
