Cairo - Saba:

Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation announced Tuesday that all delayed flights have now departed and normal operations have resumed at Cairo International Airport after a sudden outage in internet and communication networks.

In a statement, the ministry confirmed full system restoration across all terminals, thanks to alternative solutions implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Communications and other relevant authorities.

Operational teams continue to work efficiently to ensure smooth operations and uphold the highest safety and quality standards for passengers.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s Ministry of Health reported 14 injuries due to a major fire at the Ramses Central Exchange in downtown Cairo. The injured were transferred to the Coptic Hospital for treatment.

The Egyptian Ambulance Authority dispatched 17 ambulances to the scene. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, is following up on the incident.

Earlier, Telecom Egypt announced a partial disruption of internet and landline services in Cairo and Giza due to the fire, which damaged major cables inside the exchange center.

The fire broke out in the upper floors of the Ramses exchange building early Tuesday. Fire crews quickly contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading, though the exact cause remains unknown. Initial reports suggest it may have started in an administrative office.
