The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, reported on Thursday that Israeli occupation forces have been intensifying direct and heavy attacks since dawn on densely populated areas and displacement camps inside Gaza City.
In a press statement, Basal stated that the death toll has exceeded 55, with over 180 wounded, including critical cases that are difficult to treat due to the complete collapse of the health system.
Since early Thursday morning, the Israeli army has escalated airstrikes on tents housing displaced persons and civilian gatherings throughout Gaza City. Among the most devastating attacks was a massacre in Al-Shati (Beach) refugee camp, where 19 people were killed when a tent near Al-Sousi Mosque was bombed.
This massacre is part of a series of repeated violations against civilians in Gaza, where even temporary shelters have become direct targets, exacerbating the humanitarian disaster amid the ongoing destruction of vital infrastructure and residential areas by Israeli forces.
