A high-ranking Israeli occupation army officer admitted that all military theories and operational plans prepared for potential attacks from Gaza collapsed on October 7.

The eastern brigade commander (codenamed "A"), during his decommissioning ceremony as translated by Palestinian Safa Agency, stated:
"The scale of our humiliating failure to protect Israelis near Gaza is indescribable."
