Capital Sana'a's Planning Sector on Wednesday initiated development work in the model districts of Old Sana'a, Maeen, and Bani al-Harith.
Capital Sana'a mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad, along with other officials, reviewed the planned development paths. He emphasized the importance of utilizing all resources and encouraging community involvement in these model districts to achieve progress.
Dr. Ubad stressed the need to collaborate with Bunyan Development Foundation, the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Authority, and other relevant bodies across various sectors, making the best use of available resources.
He urged focusing efforts on achieving development priorities in these model districts as a starting point, implementing projects cost-effectively with community support.
Dr. Abdulwahab Sharaf al-Din, head of the Secretariat's Planning Sector, presented a comprehensive plan outlining key areas, priorities, and development goals, based on studies analyzing the economic, social, and environmental conditions in the model districts.
These studies identified challenges and proposed development paths, along with strategic priorities for Old Sana'a, Maeen, and Bani al-Harith. A presentation also addressed the environmental situation in Bani al-Harith and offered recommendations.
This initiative aligns with the government's development program aimed at self-sufficiency, reducing imports, and boosting local production.
