A campaign to monitor and inspect the prices of essential commodities and foodstuffs was launched in Ibb province on Monday in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.
The campaign, led by the Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, aims to ensure that businesses, including companies, shops, bakeries, and restaurants, adhere to official price lists and maintain price stability for basic consumer goods in the governorate's markets.
Director of the Office of Economy and Industry Hussein Sharif stated that the campaign is in line with directives from national leadership to secure food supplies, facilitate their distribution, and stabilize market prices.
He announced that main committees and field teams have begun operations in all districts, working in collaboration with local authorities and security agencies.
The campaign will focus on verifying traders' compliance with price lists and taking action against violators, including the immediate closure of shops engaging in price manipulation.
