PARIS September 8. 2024 (Saba) - The French capital, Paris, and other cities witnessed demonstrations calling for the removal of President Emmanuel Macron, at the call of leftist forces in protest against his appointment of former right-wing minister Michel Barnier as prime minister.

The demonstrations challenge Macron's decision to avoid appointing a prime minister from the left-wing coalition that came first in divisive legislative elections last July.
