WASHINGTON September 07. 2024 (Saba) - At least four people late on Friday were killed when a single-engine plane crashed near Anderson, Indiana.
Last night, US media quoted Captain Darwin Doyggins of the Madison County Police Department as saying that the plane took off on Friday at about 06:45 local time from Fort Dodge Airport in Iowa and was supposed to land at Anderson Airport around 10:00 local time.
According to the police department, the plane crashed in a cornfield.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later confirmed that there were four people on board and no one survived, noting that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the accident.
The council said the plane crashed "in unknown circumstances."
Eyewitnesses said the pilot may have been trying to return to the airport before the crash.
They pointed out that the plane overturned and fell into the cornfield and caught fire.
