SANA'A August 31. 2024 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi was briefed on the Authority's activity and role in protecting public funds, during his meeting on Saturday, with the Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Tender Control and Auctions, Eng. Abdul Malik Al-Arashi.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to a presentation from the Chairman of the Authority on the responsibility entrusted to the Authority in protecting public funds in accordance with the powers and tasks specified in Law No. 23 of 2007 regarding government tenders, auctions and stores. Affirming the Authority's commitment to transparency in the conduct of its work and full compliance with the rules of professional conduct stipulated in its law.
He touched on the principles and criteria for selecting the members of the Board of Directors of the Authority, which is based on competence, integrity and job experience away from any party or political affiliations. He pointed out that the draft amendments to the current law are before the Council of Ministers and the House of Representatives to complete the constitutional procedures for their issuance.
