SANA'A August 31. 2024 (Saba) - The Government of Change and Construction has expressed condolences for the recent loss of life due to the collapse of a residential building and a commercial facility in Bani Musa (al-Jarf) district, Wusab al-Safil, Dhamar, following heavy rains and torrential floods.

In a statement, government spokesman and Minister of Information Hashem Sharaf al-Din conveyed deep sorrow for the victims and extended heartfelt sympathies to their families. He also wished a swift recovery for the injured and safety for those still missing.

Minister Sharaf al-Din urged residents in mountainous areas affected by heavy rain to exercise extreme caution and implement necessary safety measures. He warned of potential landslides and structural collapses due to ongoing severe weather conditions.

He praised the efforts of civil defense teams and emergency personnel working tirelessly to locate the missing and assist those impacted. The government, alongside the Supreme Committee for Emergencies and Flood Damage, remains committed to closely monitoring the situation and providing essential support.

The Government of Change and Construction called on all citizens to prioritize their safety, cooperate fully in rescue and relief operations, and assist in clearing roads to mitigate the impact of the floods.
