SANA'A August 05. 2024 (Saba) - The Specialized Criminal Court in Sana'a on Monday sentenced 15 individuals to a total of 25 years in prison across five separate cases involving drug trafficking and promotion.

The rulings were issued during sessions presided over by Judge Abdullah Dawas, with the participation of Public Prosecution member Nasr al-Qasimi and Secretary Adel al-Jidri.

Mubarak Hussein Mohammed al-Jaran was convicted of possessing, transporting, and purchasing 360 grams of "Shabu" and 20 "Captagon" pills with the intent to sell them, in addition to personal drug use. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and the seized substances were confiscated.

Jamil Mansour Nasser al-Maqshi was found guilty of possessing, receiving, transporting, and delivering 260 blocks of hashish in multiple transactions between Sana'a and Sa'ada. He received a 25-year prison sentence, and the seized Hashish was confiscated.

The court also convicted eight individuals—Ayed Saleh Abdo Sab'a, Mohammed Ali Mohammed Naji al-Himyari, Ibrahim Ali Abdullah al-Jabali, Sami Omar Abdullah Fatini, Hilal Ahmed Ghaleb Ghaleb al-Sharabi, Fayez Muhammad Ali Al-Nazari, and Yahya Nasser Ahmed al-Baihani—on charges of drug trafficking, promotion, and use. They were each sentenced to 25 years in prison, and the seized drugs were confiscated.

Six defendants—Khaled Ahmed Ali Al-Amari, Fursan Saeed Qaed al-Alimi, Zakaria Abdo Abdullah Mohsen al-Samai, Mohammed Yousef Abdullah al-Nahari, Nabil Shuai Othman Haqli, and Faiz Ali Ahmed Othman Haqli—were found guilty of possessing, receiving, and transporting various quantities of drugs.

They received 25-year prison sentences, and the seized drugs were confiscated.

Additionally, Badr Abdullah Hazza Musleh Masoud and Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Hazza Masoud were convicted of possessing, obtaining, and transporting 36 blocks of hashish resin.

They were sentenced to five years in prison, and the seized Hashish was confiscated.
