BAYDA August 04. 2024 (Saba) – Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris on Sunday inspected the progress of work on rehabilitating and maintaining the central refrigerator at Makiras Agricultural Association in Mukairas district.
The project, which is funded by the Agricultural Projects Financing Unit at a cost of 34 million riyals, has reached a completion rate of 70 percent.
Governor Idris, accompanied by Engineer Abdullah al-Amiri, received an update from Eng. Nasser Homsan, Chairman of Mukairas Agricultural Cooperative Association.
Homsan detailed the progress on rehabilitating mechanical and electrical equipment and upgrading the facility.
Established in the 1970s, the central refrigerator is a key facility for Mukairas Agricultural Association. The governor emphasized the importance of expediting the maintenance work to restore the refrigerator to operational status, which is crucial for cooling seeds and crops in the market.
Governor Idris highlighted the need to boost efforts in advancing the agricultural sector, in line with the directives from the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council.
Idris encouraged farmers to reclaim and utilize solid lands for crop cultivation and to leverage the facilities, funds, and support provided by relevant authorities and cooperative societies to expand agricultural activities and achieve self-sufficiency.
