SANA'A August 04. 2024 (Saba) - A joint meeting of the Administrative Body of the Local Council in Sana'a province and the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, led by Governor Abdulbasit al-Hadi, on Sunday reviewed the unit's final account for the year 2023.

The meeting approved the formation of a committee to review and correct any errors in the final account, with a report to be submitted for discussion and approval.

The meeting, which included the Secretary-General of the Local Council AbdulqaderaAl-Jilaini, members of the Administrative Body and Council, and province advisor Abdullah al-Marwani, assessed the technical and financial progress of projects from the unit's plan for the past Hijri year 1445 AH up to Muharram 28, 1446 AH, totaling an estimated cost of 784 million and 40 thousand riyals.

They discussed the 20 projects planned for the year 1446 AH, with an estimated cost of 773 million and 10 thousand riyals.

The meeting also reviewed the loan project for associations, based on the committee's report on loan project performance and its recommendations.

They touched on the supplementary plan for the year 1444 AH, highlighting the need to adjust it according to the remaining balance in the unit's account for that year.

Executive Director Engineer Ali al-Qairi outlined the challenges faced in implementing the unit's tasks and the measures taken to overcome them.

Al-Qairi praised the support from the local authority's leadership in completing the unit's infrastructure to better serve the agricultural sector and rural communities.

Governor al-Hadi emphasized the importance of improving the performance of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit and ensuring the progress of project implementation.

Al-Hadi stressed the need to enhance development and service efforts, utilize resources effectively, and meet the needs of citizens.

He highlighted the importance of distributing projects across all districts based on need and availability.

Al-Hadi also directed the preparation of a comprehensive study, with assistance from the Geological Survey Authority, to establish collection and feeding tanks for groundwater in various districts.
