BAYDA August 04. 2024 (Saba) - Governor Abdullah Idris of Bayda province led a meeting on Sunday to discuss the mechanism for completing the sewage network expansion project in the al-Sharia neighborhood of Bayda city.
The project, costing 520,000 euros, is funded by the German government and implemented by the Social Fund for Development.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Bayda City, Sadiq al-Qadhi, and the head of the community committee, Ahmed Amwas. They reviewed a report presented by Ahmed Al-Hadar, Director of the Water and Sanitation Corporation branch, detailing the progress of the project.
The report includes excavation work, installation of main and sub-manholes, and inspection rooms, covering a longitudinal distance of approximately 6.4 kilometers. The project aims to connect 220 homes to the sewage network.
Governor Idris emphasized the importance of doubling efforts to implement the project, which will improve the environmental situation and serve citizens whose homes are connected to the sewage network, thereby contributing to stability.
He urged adherence to technical and engineering standards and stressed the need to complete the work within the specified time period.
