Iraq denies disappearance of 50,000 Pakistanis on its lands
[Mon, 29 Jul 2024 20:00:52 +0300]

BAGHDAD July 29. 2024 (Saba) -The Iraqi foreign ministry on Monday denied Pakistani media reports on the disappearance of 50,000 Pakistanis in Iraq throughout years.

The ministry made official contacts with the Pakistani minister for religious affairs, Shuddery Hussein, who said his remarks were mal-reported, and the media reports on Pakistanis disappearance in Iraq were incorrect, the ministry added in a statement.

Minister Hussein said he would summon the media outlet that published the inaccurate report for investigation, the statement read.

These people did not disappear, but rather failed to return, the minister wrote on 'X', noting that the people were not affiliated to any party or organization, and they went to Iraq for work.

"We will meet with the Iraqi minister of labor and sign a memo of understanding in this regard," he added.
