DAMASCUS March 25. 2024 (Saba) - Syrian sources reported, last night, the sound of several explosions inside the base of the American Kharab al-Jir airport in al-Malikiyah in the northern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
Al-Mayadeen quoted the sources as saying: The sounds are the result of targeting the base of the US forces at Kharab Al-Jir airport with three missiles that fell inside and in its surroundings.
She pointed out that the missile attack was followed by another targeting of the base with a drone, without information on the extent of the losses.
This year, there is a significant increase in the frequency of attacks against US bases in Syria and Iraq, which has not stopped since the start of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" epic on October 7, 2023.
Over the past months, these attacks have prompted the Americans to bring in a large number of batches of weapons and defense equipment, transported by land through crossings between northern Iraq and SDF-controlled areas in northeastern Syria, or by air through the base of Kharab al-Jir airport, which received more than ten batches of American weapons and equipment, accompanied by the implementation of a large number of live ammunition training, and testing the readiness of weapons.
These targets put pressure on the administration in the White House, as the British network "CNN" previously reported that the increased possibility of casualties among American soldiers represents a new external crisis that is not welcome, especially in the issue of the re-election of President Joe Biden.
