WASHINGTON January 30. 2024 (Saba) -
On Tuesday, Bloomberg revealed that the number of tankers turning their long flights around Cape of Good Hope had risen to 100 compared to last week.
The Agency reported that this represented a jump of about 45 per cent from 69 tankers on January 24.
The Agency reported that ships carried some 56 million barrels of crude oil and petroleum products.
A few days ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that Australia's BHP Group had diverted almost all of its shipments from Asia to Europe away from the Red Sea.
As the Australian mining giant said: The unrest in the Red Sea "forces some shipping companies to take alternative paths, such as Cape of Good Hope around Africa, while others still favour the Red Sea with additional controls."
It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni armed forces affirm the guarantee of navigational traffic in the Arabian Sea, Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb for all vessels, with the exception of Zionist vessels and those destined for Zionist enemy ports until the cessation of the aggression against Gaza, recently, United States and British vessels have been targeted as a result of the United States-British aggression against Yemen.
