SANA'A November 11. 2023 (Saba)- During the past months of the current year 2023 AD, the Tax Authority achieved a qualitative transformation in the field of developing and simplifying tax services by transforming various tax procedures.
The Authority worked to employ electronic technology in a way that serves its goals and directions to develop and advance tax work.
Head of the Tax Authority, Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed Muhammad, explained to (Saba) that the transition of manual tax procedures to electronic systems is a qualitative shift in the history of tax work and establishes a new phase of participatory relationship with the tax public.
He pointed out that the Authority has transformed over the past months into a workshop to come up with an integrated electronic matrix for various tax procedures and present it to taxpayers in a simplified manner, whether through the Authority’s website or through available applications.
Muhammad reviewed the most prominent electronic projects completed by the Authority that are available to taxpayers, including electronic tax registration services, the automated response service for the call and communication center, and golden list privileges services.
He noted that the Authority worked to activate electronic services via the web in addition to completing the electronic tax payment service as well as the electronic tax return project.
Last September, the Tax Authority approved the final version of the electronic service for the requirements document for the general account project for tax taxpayers, which operates within the integrated automated system through which all procedures for all transactions between the taxpayer and the tax administration, both procedural and financial, are recorded.
The Tax Authority aims, through its electronic services, to create a suitable climate for taxpayers to complete their transactions without contact with the tax administration, in a way that embodies the Authority’s directions in consolidating a partnership based on trust, transparency and integrity in tax work.
The electronic tax services matrix also works to save time and effort in the communication mechanism between the tax administration and the taxpayers, and develops the tax public’s voluntary compliance with paying tax fees.
According to the head of the Tax Authority, converting tax services to electronic templates contributed significantly to reducing the phenomenon of blackmail to which taxpayers were exposed by some weak-minded tax employees.
Abdul Jabbar Ahmed Muhammad pointed out that the electronic tax registration service allows the new taxpayer to obtain the tax number and tax card according to easy procedures that are completed electronically without returning to the tax administration.
