KUWAIT October 26.2023 (Saba) - The U.S. Embassy in Kuwait tonight issued a security alert confirming threats against U.S. military bases in Kuwait, announced on social media.
In a statement, United States media sources quoted the embassy as saying: "It is aware of the threats made on social media by the Al-Waad Al-Haq brigades, an armed group in Iraq, against United States military bases in Kuwait."
It added: "As a result, the United States Embassy in Kuwait restricts its activity at United States military bases to basic and official events only, and we also advise United States citizens to remain alert."
This came after the "Brigades of the True Promise – Sons of the Arabian Peninsula” affirmed in a statement yesterday that "patience in the face of what we are witnessing today against the Palestinian people borders." It declared that "United States bases in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates are legitimate targets of their attacks."
It announced that United States military targets falling within the scope of its targets would be expanded to include those in a number of Gulf States.
