SANA'A February 04. 2023 (Saba) - The Ministry of Human Rights condemned the Saudi regime's arbitrary arrest of Yemeni citizen Marwa Abd Rabbo Hussein Al-Sabri in the Holy Land; As she went to perform Umrah, he fabricated false malicious charges against her.
In a statement received on Friday by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the Ministry confirmed that the sentencing of this Yemeni woman by the Saudi regime to one year's imprisonment constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights and all humanitarian laws, in addition to being contrary to religious and social values.
The statement explained that this action, to the extent that it constitutes a new provocation to the feelings of millions of Yemenis and to their noble customs, traditions and values that refuse to humiliate the dignity of women and the upholding of them, what the Saudi regime has done is a complex crime, where she has been arrested and performs holy rites without the crime she committed and he did not observe the sanctity of the place.
It was pointed out that such provocative actions of all Muslims feelings required a rethink of the need to neutralize sacred feelings about the superiority and tyranny of the Saudi regime.
He pointed out that it was outrageous that the Saudi regime had deplored a Yemeni woman who had performed the rites; Because she was subjected to security harassment and verbal assault prompted her to say a word summarizing his eight-year murder and siege of her people, while his conscience did not awaken as he continued in cold blood to carry out his crimes and blockade against the Yemeni people.
The violation was added to a series of precedents committed by the Saudi regime against Yemeni women from killing, siege and abuse, and it continues to deepen these wounds, going beyond the values of brothers, religion, neighbourhood and all human values and charters.
In its statement, the Ministry of Human Rights demanded the speedy release of Yemeni citizen Marwa al-Sabri. Advocate all Yemeni people and all human rights activists in the Arab and Islamic world condemn this act and stand in solidarity with Yemeni women.
It also called on the United Nations and humanitarian and international organizations to condemn and denounce what had happened, pressure the Saudi regime to release it and stop its crimes, abuses and arbitrary arrests of Yemeni citizens residing in the Kingdom's territory and provide legal protection.
