SANA'A, Sep. 29 (Saba) - The Yemeni Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) has destroyed 116 cartons of dates at Nehm Control Center due to the expiration of its validity period.
The YSMO stated that this procedure comes within the framework of the authority's efforts and its keenness through its various outlets to ensure that every commodity and product is tested and examined before it reaches the Yemeni market to ensure that it conforms to specifications.
It pointed out that the authority, through all its branches, control centers and outlets, is excluding, destroying and blocking the arrival of any violating product in order to ensure the safety of citizens and preserve their rights.
The YSMO confirmed that it is working on developing work mechanisms to control all products and ensure their compliance with specifications and standards.
It called on importers and manufacturers to abide by the approved standard specifications and the process of storage and transportation of goods and merchandise in order to preserve them from damage and to ensure that they reach the consumer with the required quality.
The YSMO also stressed that the authority will not tolerate any violations that may harm the consumer, as it is the first line of defense for citizens.
