SANA'A, Aug. 14 (Saba) - The President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Sunday urged encouraging investment in the agricultural sector and conducting studies for the establishment of joint stock companies.

During his meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Engineer Abdul-Malik Al-Thaw, President Al-Mashat pointed to the importance of providing facilities to traders and granting advantages to the agricultural sector inputs, such as seeds, solar energy and others.

President Al-Mashat also stressed the importance of encouraging and supporting farmers to grow grain, especially wheat, to achieve food security, as well as constructing dams and water barriers.

He pointed out that the agricultural marketing of local products should be given a priority within the Agriculture Ministry's plans, calling for paying attention to the cultivation of Yemeni coffee, which is considered a strategic crop and enjoys international fame.
