SANA'A, Feb. 22 (Saba) - Interior ministry spokesperson Brig. Gen. Abdul-Khaleq al-Ajri has said a lightning security operation managed to free 9 prisoners from a prison in Marib city.
Al-Ajri explained a team affiliated with the Ministry carried out a special security operation in the city and liberated 9 prisoners of the army and popular committees.
He pointed out that the operation took place after the ministry's investigations confirmed that the mercenaries of the aggression had sold 2 prisoners, Hussein Jahaf and Bakil al-Khawlani, of the army and popular committees to a Saudi officer, out of a total of 11 prisoners who were in the prison.
The spokesman pointed out the decision to carry out the operation in the city was made after information was confirmed that the mercenaries negotiated the deal sale of the rest [9] prisoners to the Saudi officer.
He made clear the liberation of the 9 prisoners and get them out safely from the city to the areas held by the control of the army and popular committees took place within a few hours.
Al-Ajri said the freed prisoners were received officially at al-Sabeen square in the capital Sana'a, hailing the cooperation of the free people of Marib who had a positive impact on the success of the military operation.
The spokesman confirmed the deal sale of prisoners to the Saudi occupier is clear evidence of the moral decay they have reached and a crime that is added to their crimes for which the Yemeni people will hold them accountable.
