SANAA, March 3 (Saba) - Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Abdelmohsen Tawoos and representatives of seven international organizations signed on Tuesday on an agreement to organize the work of international NGO in Yemen.

Under the agreement, which was signed by representatives of Oxfam, Adra, Intersos, International Society, French Doctors of the World, British Islamic Aid and Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI), the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs is committed to facilitate the tasks and activities of humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen.

The agreement provides for respecting the sovereignty of the country, the provisions of the Constitution, laws, regulations, customs and traditions, not engaging in any activities incompatible with local laws in force, and the commitment when implementing activities to the plans, programs and proposals that are compatible with the actual needs with transparency and impartiality and without any interference in the internal affairs of the country.

The agreement also includes not implementing any surveys of any societal segment except after the coordination with the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation.

During the signing of the agreement, Tawoos stressed the importance of integrating efforts between all parties as partners in the field of humanitarian work.

Tawoos confirmed that the Council is ready to provide facilities to implement or facilitate the organizations' tasks, programs and projects in accordance with the provisions and principles of the agreement.
