GAZA April 17. 2024 (Saba) - Head of the government media office in the Gaza Strip Salama Maarouf has confirmed that the Zionist enemy is seeking to empty the city of Beit Hanoun and the eastern region of Jabalia, northern Gaza by carrying out a military operation there.
Maarouf indicated, in a press statement, that the Zionist enemy’s bulldozers and tanks advanced towards the shelter centers in Beit Hanoun and surrounded Mahdia al-Shawa School, where hundreds of displaced people were there.
He added "The occupation army established a field investigation center behind the school and asked everyone to leave at gunpoint. The women were forced to take off their hijab, the men were stripped of their outer clothing, all the families in Beit Hanoun were forced to leave, and a number of young men were arrested."
Maarouf explained that this new heinous crime was carried out under the cover of violent artillery shelling by Zionist warplanes and under heavy gunfire.
He pointed out that military vehicles are still present at this moment near Abu Safiya area, eastern Jabalia and Beit Hanoun.
Maarouf called on the international community to put an end to the new crime of persecuting the Palestinian people and displacing them from their places of residence.
