OTTAWA April 29.2024 (Saba) - Hundreds of students organized an open protest sit-in on the campus of McGill University in the Canadian city of Montreal, demanding that the university cease its investments in companies supporting Zionist attacks on Gaza.
The students carried a banner reading "We will not allow our university to be complicit in genocide", calling for support for the Palestinian people and the withdrawal of investments from the Zionist entity, amidst tightened security measures outside the university campus.
The protesting students, accompanied by students from American universities, expressed their desire to sever financial ties with the Zionist entity due to its crimes in Gaza.
Documents from McGill University show that it holds investments in military technology companies, including Lockheed Martin, which has provided fighter jets to the Zionist entity.
The demonstrators affirmed that they will continue their protests until the university responds to their demands, as a camp with around 20 tents and barricades was set up to form a barrier.
The protests in American universities have escalated to pressure for ending support to the Zionist entity and avoiding arms exports to it amid ongoing attacks targeting civilians in Gaza.
