
SANAA, April 15 (Saba) - The Yemen Petroleum company (YPC) on Sunday announced that it will implement from Monday, in cooperation with the security services, a campaign to combat the manifestations and control of the black market phenomena for oil derivatives.
The company said in a statement obtained by Saba that this comes from the responsibility placed on the company to provide the needs of citizens regarding oil derivatives with quality technical approved.
The company stressed that the campaign comes because of the petroleum products sold in the black market and their disastrous effects on the lives and their property, including generators, equipment and means of transport.
It added that the source of those material in are not known, in addition to poor transport and storage in tanks, that do not meet the technical standards, as well poor specifications or non-conforming specifications for those materials.
It added that some traders in those markets try also to exploit the needs of people at the present time via mixing petroleum materials with other materials to increase profits.
The Yemen Petroleum company called on citizens not to be dragged behind the purchase of petroleum products from the black market being contaminated and non-conforming specifications.
The company called on citizens to interact and report any manifestations of the black market anywhere.
