Court in capital sentences to death 11 people for kidnapping, torturing, killing  citizen

SANAA, Jan. 28 (Saba) - The First Criminal Court in the capital Sanaa on Monday sentenced 11 people to death for the kidnapping, torture and killing of the victim Louay Seif.

At the hearing, which was held under the chairmanship of Judge Mohammed Mofleh and the presence of the prosecutor, Judge Essam Al-Maori, the court convicted 13 of the 20 accused of the charges against them.

The sentence included a penalty of five years' imprisonment from the date of arrest of one of convicted.

The court declared acquittal of one of the defendants of the charge of incitement and sentenced him a two years and half imprisonment from the date of arrest.

The court also acquitted seven people of the charges attributed to them in the indictment sheet submitted by the criminal prosecution.

The court ordered the convicts to hand over six million riyals to the heirs of the victim.

The Court based its judgment on the records of the collection of inferences and evidence provided by the Criminal Prosecution.

The Criminal Prosecution had charged 20 people with involvement in kidnapping, killing and inciting against the victim, Louay Mohammed Abdo Mohammed Seif and his father, and assaulting the security forces of the district of Al-Rouna, Taiz.
