
AMRAN, Dec. 24 (Saba) - A meeting held on Monday in Amran province headed by Governor Dr. Faisal Jouman and representatives of the General Corporation for Cereal Development and Production discussed arrangements for honoring the winners of the martyr Former President Saleh al-Samad for grain production.
At the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Governor of Amran Hassan al-Ashqas, the governor heard from the committee member Hashim Abdul-Malik to explain about the award, its objectives, mechanism of implementation as well as the conditions that must be met by the winners to qualify for this award and the final arrangements to prepare for the announcement and to honor the winners at the ceremony, January 2019.
The committee member reviewed the mechanism that was adopted to select the winners from the farmers, which included field visits of the five target districts of the Corporation and relied on accurate data and information through which the best results were selected from those field surveys.
The meeting approved the formation of technical, preparatory and informational committees from the Agriculture and Irrigation Office, the local authority and the information office in the province to prepare for the ceremony of handing over the President's Award for grain production in 2018 to the most productive farmers of grain crops and agricultural products at the level of the target districts for the current agricultural season.
At the meeting, Governor Jouman pointed to the importance of the award and its role in encouraging farmers to produce and expand the largest lands planted of grain to achieve self-sufficiency gradually.
He stressed the support of the local authority leadership for any initiatives that encourage and motivate farmers to maintain competition in the production of various kinds of grains as well as vegetables, stressing the importance of preparing well to prepare for the celebration.
