div style="text-align: left;">SANA'A, March 06 (Saba) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met on Monday in Sana'a with the UN Resident Coordinator/ UN Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick.
The foreign minister delivered a letter from the Yemen Banks Association which related to the intervention of the United Nations to urge the Saudi regime to lift the ban on transferring of the foreign currency into the banks accounts outside Yemen so as to be able to import the essential humanitarian needs.
The letter also contains the release of the frozen funds and launched a private SWIFT system of the CBY to enable commercial banks to boost their accounts abroad, especially Yemen's markets are in need to buy foodstuffs before the holy month of Ramadan.
McGoldrick said that he would deliver the Yemen Banks Association's letter to the United Nations and urge to remove the obstacles which contributes to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
