SHABWA, Jan. 1 ( Saba ) - The army's heroes and People's Committees' forces foiled attempts by the US-backed Saudi-paid mercenaries to infiltrate toward Asaylan district of Shabwa province, killing and wounding dozens of them, an army official told Saba on Sunday.
The operation took place on Saturday night.
The official said that up to 30 elements of the mercenaries, including commanders, were killed and injured during the clashes with the national forces.
Also three military armored vehicles were destroyed, said the official.
