Saada governor, UNFPA discuss health support in Saada

SAADA, Nov. 8 (Saba) – Saada governor, Mohammed Jaber Awad met with Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Aziz Gildi, to discuss the health aspects in the governorate.

In the meeting , the officials discussed means to improve health services for women and children in the province, especially at the current circumstances where the country is under air, sea and land blockade imposed by the US-backed Saudi aggression war on Yemen.

The governor stressed on the need of more support to the health sector, which has become the most target by the aggression countries since the beginning of tyrannical war in March 2015.

"The Saudi-led aggression considered Saada province as a military zone and has been bombing everything moving on the ground", the governor said.

The governor showed readiness of the local council to cooperate with the United Nations Population Fund to improve the health sector in the war-stricken province.

The acting resident representative of the UNFPA said his visit to Saada aimed at determine the emergency needs of the health services the fund can provide as soon as possible and other needs that the fund can discuss with donor countries.
