SANA’A, July 14 (Saba) – The national delegation, accompanied by the UN envoy to Yemen, headed on Thursday to Kuwait to participate in the second round of consultations to start Friday.

In a statement before departing Sana’a Airport, head of the General People’s Congress (GPC) delegation Arif al-Zoka confirmed that the solution to the Yemeni crisis lies in a consensual executive authority to manage the country affairs in the coming stage.

“ We hope the seriousness of the international community and the United Nations in bringing peace to Yemen,” al-Zoka said.

He pointed out that the other side dose want a solution, saying “ but we as a national delegation will seek to find a solution leading to stopping the brutal aggression and lifting the unjust siege on the Yemeni people.”

“ We are with peace not with surrender,” he stressed.

For his part, head of Ansarullah delegation Mohammed Abdusalam said they discussed with the UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh in Sana’a the points agreed upon in the first round of Kuwait consultations, as well as some standing issues at the borders and the escalation in some fronts.

“We will not accept any new map or conception except those we already discussed during the seventy-day consultations in Kuwait,” he said.

Abdusalam pointed out that the other parties did commit to halting the acts of hostilities or releasing the detainees and prisoners according to the agreement in the first round of consultations.

The UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh met during his two-day visit to Yemen representatives of the political parties and components and discussed with them the latest developments and arrangements for resuming Kuwait consultations.
