Several districts in Sana'a Governorate organized speech events, cultural evenings, and activities in celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabawi), upon whom be the finest prayers and most complete peace.
A speech event was held, attended by Shura Council member Mohammed Salman and Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Ahmed Al-Shawtari. District Director Yahya Al-Qanoos emphasized the importance of reviving this noble religious occasion as an expression of love and loyalty to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and following his teachings in word and deed.
He called for celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday with joy, decorating neighborhoods, homes, and streets with green lights in a manner befitting the Prophet’s status in the hearts of Yemenis.
Ibrahim Hameeduddin, Director of Zakat Awareness at the governorate’s Zakat Authority office, urged strengthening ties with the Prophet (PBUH) and renewing the pledge to follow his path in confronting the enemies of the Ummah, including supporting Gaza and the Palestinian people.
He noted that Yemen’s role in backing Palestine stems from adhering to the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings, values, and struggle against the Ummah’s enemies. The event featured various segments expressing joy for the occasion.
The Zakat, Public Works, and Transport offices organized speech events. District Director Khaled Al-Aqeedah stressed reviving this religious occasion to renew loyalty to Allah and His Messenger (PBUH).
He called on residents to celebrate in all villages, drawing lessons from the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Speeches highlighted the importance of instilling values of dignity through his biography and following his path in addressing the Ummah’s challenges. The event included two expressive poems.
The local authority and Zakat office held a meeting attended by District Director Khalil Abulama, executive officials, social figures, and educators. Mohammed Al-Dhayb, Director of the Zakat Office, stated that celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday is a long-standing Yemeni tradition reinforcing connection to the Prophet (PBUH).
Schools in Sana'a implemented educational and cultural programs, including morning radio segments highlighting the significance of Mawlid al-Nabi amid challenges facing the Islamic Ummah.
Students condemned Zionist crimes in Gaza, the siege, and the use of aid as traps to kill civilians, declaring solidarity with Palestinian children. They called on global youth to demand an end to aggression and the entry of food and medical aid.
