A meeting in the Planning Sector of the Capital Secretariat, chaired by the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Abbad, discussed on Sunday ways to enhance economic empowerment projects.
The meeting, which included the Head of the Planning Sector, Dr. Abdulwahab Sharafuddin, the Director of the Social Affairs Office, Nasser Al-Kahali, the Director of Initiatives, Engineer Ahmed Al-Mashreqi, the Projects Director at the Financing Unit, Engineer Zaid Al-Qulaisi, the Follow-up Director, Abdulhalim Al-Sukkari, and the Improvement Director, Mohammed Al-Bashiri, reviewed the progress of empowerment projects and support for productive families.
The meeting approved a draft decision to form an Economic Empowerment Committee comprising relevant offices and entities within the Capital Secretariat, as well as inventorying previous empowerment projects and submitting necessary proposals in this regard.
The attendees also discussed projects and activities that could be implemented in coordination with concerned authorities, including the rehabilitation and training of target groups in empowerment projects, as well as marketing local products to support domestic production and achieve self-sufficiency.
Additionally, the Capital Mayor met with the Deputy Head of the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Houthi, to review the progress of rehabilitation, restoration, and maintenance projects for main and secondary roads in the Secretariat, emphasizing efforts to complete all projects.
