Sana’a – Saba:

A week-long training course on emergency preparedness for water access and groundwater exploration began on Saturday in the capital Sana’a, organized by the General Authority for Rural Water Projects and funded by UNICEF.

The course aims to train authority staff in using geophysical devices, including electrical and electromagnetic survey tools, to improve groundwater exploration success rates.

At the opening, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Water, Adel Badr, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to employing modern technologies to ensure better results in groundwater detection. He thanked UNICEF for providing two of the latest exploration devices and supporting the training program.

Badr expressed hope that participants will benefit from the course and urged open discussion of field challenges, especially in rural areas with complex terrain and geology. He also assured full facilitation to the training team to enhance the use of advanced technologies for locating safe and sustainable water sources for rural projects.
