Dutch Foreign Minister Kasper Veldkamp declared on Friday that Israel's plan to intensify military operations and reoccupy Gaza is "a wrong move."
In a statement posted on X, Veldkamp emphasized:
- "The Netanyahu government's plan to escalate operations in Gaza is misguided."
- "Gaza's humanitarian situation is catastrophic and requires immediate improvement."
- Israel's occupation plan does nothing to alleviate Gaza's humanitarian disaster or facilitate prisoner returns.
- The statement reflects growing European dissent against Israel's U.S.-backed military campaign.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel's forces – with American and European support – have committed genocidal acts resulting in:
- 61,258+ Palestinian deaths (mostly women/children)
- 152,045+ injured (as of Thursday)
- Thousands still buried under rubble, beyond rescue teams' reach
