Lisbon – Saba:

Several cities in Portugal witnessed marches and protest rallies on Thursday, organized by civil society organizations, to denounce the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip.

According to Quds Press Agency, the capital Lisbon saw an event in Rossio Square, where the names of 18,726 children martyred in the ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, were displayed and read—a painful gesture reflecting the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe.

In Faro, the southern Portuguese capital, thousands joined a massive march, raising Palestinian flags and chanting slogans demanding an end to the Israeli aggression and the use of starvation as a weapon, while affirming their support for the Palestinian people’s struggle.

In another protest move, the Portuguese Movement for the Rights of the Palestinian People and Peace in the Middle East launched a campaign against the participation of Israel Premier Tech in a prestigious cycling race in Portugal, considering the team’s presence a "provocation to peace-loving sentiments" amid International Criminal Court accusations of Israeli occupation forces committing genocide and crimes against humanity.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued its genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 61,258 Palestinian civilians—mostly children and women—and 152,045 injuries (non-final toll), while thousands remain trapped under rubble or in streets inaccessible to rescue teams.
