Washington – Saba: Liu Pengui, spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in the United States, announced on Thursday that Washington's attempts to force Beijing to halt its cooperation with Moscow "will not lead to any results."
Sputnik quoted Liu Pengui as saying, "The international community, including China, is conducting normal cooperation with Russia within the framework of international law. He considered this cooperation "legitimate, reasonable, harmless to any third party, and deserving of respect and protection."
He added that China has always rejected "illegal and unjustified unilateral sanctions," as well as what he described as the "long-arm jurisdiction" exercised by the United States.
He emphasized, "Tariff wars have no winners. Coercion and pressure will lead nowhere."
Previously, US President Donald Trump said his administration was considering imposing tariffs on China, similar to those imposed on India for purchasing Russian oil.
