New York - SABA: Russia has requested a closed-door consultation session of the UN Security Council to discuss the situation regarding Milorad Dodik, the president of the Republika Srpska (Republika Srpska) within Bosnia and Herzegovina, who faces impeachment following a court ruling against him.
The Panama Mission to the United Nations, which currently holds the presidency of the Security Council, confirmed to Sputnik that the session will be held today, Thursday, at Russia's request.
This comes after the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to strip Dodik of his powers, following a one-year prison sentence issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which also bars him from political activity for six years.
