Discussion held on implementation mechanism for early warning, lightning protection project in Hajjah

Sana’a – SABA:

An official meeting was held in Sana’a today to discuss the implementation mechanism for the Early Warning and Lightning Protection Project in Hajjah Governorate.




The meeting brought together Hajjah Governor Hilal Al-Sufi and the Head of the Civil Defense Authority, Major General Ibrahim Al-Moayyed. It focused on a technical study submitted by the engineering team for two key initiatives: the “Early Warning and Rainfall Monitoring System” and the “Protection of Population Centers from Lightning Strikes.”




Also in attendance were Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Malhani, Head of the Planning Sector and Emergency Operations Room in the governorate; Dr. Ahmed Nassar, President of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society; Eng. Mohammed Al-Najri, Director General of Projects at the Authority; Eng. Mohammed Al-Kubsi, IT Officer at the Authority; and Eng. Nazem Al-Absi, Early Warning System Specialist, along with the field survey teams assigned to comprehensively assess all districts in Hajjah.




The meeting reviewed the implementation plan for the project’s first phase, which will be funded by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society.




Participants emphasized the importance of these projects in strengthening early disaster response capabilities and protecting lives and property. They also stressed the need for enhanced coordination between local authorities and the Civil Defense Authority to ensure effective project execution.
