The Council of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, chaired by Minister Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawllad, held a meeting today to review preparations for commemorating the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth — peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
The meeting, attended by Deputy Minister Nabih Abu Shawsah, Youth Sector Undersecretary Abdullah Al-Razhi, Sports Sector Undersecretary Ali Hadhban, and several leaders from the youth and sports sectors, emphasized the importance of honoring this great religious occasion in a manner befitting its deep-rooted significance in the hearts of the Yemeni people. The commemoration, they stressed, should embody the prophetic values and principles that form the foundation of Yemen’s faith-based identity.
Minister Al-Mawllad stated that the events will include educational, cultural, youth, and sports programs aimed at expressing joy and loyalty to the Messenger of God (PBUH). He noted that the Ministry is working to engage various sectors and youth groups to ensure broad participation and community-wide celebration.
He further described the Prophet’s birthday as a vital spiritual and educational milestone for inspiring enthusiasm and raising awareness of the noble human and ethical values conveyed by the Prophet, affirming the Ministry’s commitment to making this year’s activities more impactful and far-reaching among youth and athletes.
Deputy Minister Nabih Abu Shawsah praised the efforts of ministry staff in preparing for the occasion, stressing the importance of expanding youth-oriented activities to reflect a positive image of Yemeni youth and strengthen their connection to the life and message of the Prophet.
He added that the Ministry is coordinating closely with local authorities and its offices in the governorates to unify efforts and ensure the success of the planned programs and events.
The council approved the formation of a preparatory committee headed by Youth Sector Undersecretary Abdullah Al-Razhi. Members will include Assistant Sports Sector Undersecretary Dr. Kamal Al-Sharif and Scouting Commissioner Abdullah Ubaid, representing local youth offices, to oversee preparations and coordination across all ministry branches.
