Gaza - Saba:
The United Nations Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian territory expressed its deep shock and outrage over the continued killing of emergency and humanitarian workers in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip.
The office stated in a post on its X account: "On August 3, the Israeli occupation army targeted a facility belonging to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, resulting in the death of one employee and the injury of three others."
It indicated that the total death toll to date has reached 49 Palestinian Red Crescent personnel and 136 civil defense personnel, who were killed while performing their humanitarian duties in extremely dangerous circumstances.
It added that "these individuals continue to carry out life-saving efforts, fully aware that they are putting their lives at risk."
He stressed the need for independent and comprehensive investigations into all incidents of targeting civilians, especially relief and emergency workers.
The Office affirmed that the deliberate targeting of relief workers may constitute a war crime under international humanitarian law, calling for those responsible for these grave violations to be held accountable.
