Sana'a - Saba:
The heads of the Social Affairs Committee Hammoud Al-Naqeeb, Planning Committee Sharaf Al-Hadi, and Services Committee Adel Al-Aqari in the Capital Secretariat inspected on Sunday the workflow at the Secretariat's Slaughterhouse Office.

The local committee heads reviewed the progress of projects to rehabilitate the livestock waste treatment station, slaughter halls, feed production factory, crusher sections, screw conveyors, furnaces, drying section, grinding unit, and packaging at the central slaughterhouse. These projects are being implemented by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit of the municipality.

They were briefed by the Director of the Slaughterhouse Office, Ahmed Idris, and the Director of the Financing Unit, Engineer Abdulmalik Al-Ansi, on the progress in rehabilitating the feed production factory and conversion furnaces at the central slaughterhouse, as well as the treatment of livestock waste to produce economically valuable products such as animal fats, organic fertilizers, and leather.

During the visit, the heads of the local authority committees—Al-Naqeeb, Al-Hadi, and Al-Aqari—discussed with the Slaughterhouse Office Director Ahmed Idris and several department managers the workflow, staff discipline, challenges faced, and solutions to address them.

The meeting also addressed the nature of projects implemented by the local authority, represented by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, which include rehabilitating and maintaining slaughterhouse facilities and equipping them with necessary tools to ensure optimal service delivery.

Director Idris provided an explanation of the workflow at the Slaughterhouse Office and its branches in the districts, the discipline of the working staff, and the importance of the locally funded projects. These projects included the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Niqm Central Slaughterhouse and Dar Salam Central Slaughterhouse, as well as the supply of slaughtering equipment, implemented by the municipality's financing unit. He also highlighted the essential needs of the slaughterhouses.

Al-Naqeeb emphasized the local authority's commitment to supporting and rehabilitating public slaughterhouses in the Capital Secretariat, enhancing their role in providing optimal services to citizens, ensuring community and environmental safety, and protecting and developing livestock by reducing the slaughter of female and young animals.
