English football club Chelsea announced on Friday the loan transfer of their young defender Mamadou Sarr to French side Strasbourg for one season.
In an official statement published on its website, Chelsea confirmed that Sarr, who recently joined the club's first team, will spend the 2025–2026 season on loan in France.
The club explained that the move is intended to give the 19-year-old player more playing time and the opportunity to gain experience in Ligue 1 before returning to Chelsea in the future.
Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League last season with 69 points. The team is set to kick off the new league campaign against Crystal Palace on August 17.
