Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed al-Zaidi was warmly received on Friday in the capital Sana’a after his detention by Saudi-backed mercenaries at Sarfait border crossing in Mahrah while seeking medical treatment.
The reception at Military College Square included top officials such as Supreme Political Council member Mubarak al-Mashan, Mahweet governor Hanin Qatina, Military Intelligence Head Major General Abdullah al-Hakim, and prominent sheikhs from major Yemeni tribes including Hashid, Bakil, Madhhij, and Hemyar.
Speakers praised Sheikh al-Zaidi’s patriotic stances, community service, and role in tribal reconciliation, describing him as a respected figure supporting national unity.
Sheikh al-Zaidi expressed gratitude to all officials, tribal leaders, and local communities who welcomed him across Yemen, highlighting the country’s values of brotherhood, tolerance, and honor.
He also acknowledged mediators Sheikh Mansour bin Abdan and Sheikh Faris bin Jalal in Mahrah and extended condolences for the martyr Tariq al Sharif, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.
