Manchester United secured a 4-1 friendly win over Bournemouth on Thursday as part of their preparations for the upcoming Premier League season.
United opened the scoring early through Rasmus Højlund in the 8th minute, followed by a second goal from Patrick Dorgu in the 25th. In the second half, Amad Diallo added a third in the 53rd minute, and Ethan Williams sealed the win with a fourth goal in the 72nd. Bournemouth’s lone goal came from a Matthijs de Ligt own goal in the 88th minute.
In other friendly matches, West Ham United came from behind to beat Everton 2-1. Idrissa Gueye put Everton ahead in the 17th minute, but Lucas Paquetá equalized in the 42nd, and Niclas Füllkrug scored the winner in the 64th minute.
Aston Villa also won 2-1 against St. Louis City SC (USA). Morgan Rogers scored in the 10th minute, followed by Ollie Watkins in the 56th. Cedric Teuchert pulled one back for the American side in the 59th minute.
The Premier League kicks off on August 15. Manchester United will face Arsenal on August 17, Bournemouth plays Liverpool on opening day, West Ham meets Sunderland on August 16, Everton plays Leeds on August 18, and Aston Villa hosts Newcastle United on August 17.
