The administration of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, confirmed that the situation inside the hospital is catastrophic by all standards, facing extremely dangerous health and humanitarian conditions in light of the rising number of wounded and urgent medical needs.
It stated that the number of wounded is in the hundreds as a result of the ongoing aggression, and that the emergency department is unable to accommodate the increasing number of serious injuries. Furthermore, the inpatient wards are completely full and cannot receive new wounded, while all wards are overcrowded with patients, exceeding the hospital's operational capacity.
It noted that work in the operating rooms has stopped due to the lack of hospital beds. A number of patients remain in the operating rooms due to a lack of space to transfer them, at a time when the hospital is experiencing a severe shortage of medicines and essential medical supplies.
The hospital administration appealed to official, humanitarian, and international agencies to urgently intervene to provide the necessary support, ensure the continuity of health services, and save lives.
