Meteorology Forecasts Scattered Rain

Sana'a - Saba:
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rain across several provinces, and rough seas due to strong winds over the next 24 hours.

The center stated in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity, possibly accompanied by hail, are likely to fall on parts of the governorates of Dhale'a, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Hajjah, Mahwit, Amran, and Saada.

Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are expected in parts of the highlands of Lahij, Abyan, Bayda, Shabwah, Jawf, the Tihama Plain, and the Hadhramaut and Mahrah plateaus.

Strong to very strong winds are expected around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The amount of rainfall measured at meteorological stations in Ibb over the past 24 hours was 24 mm, Hajjah 13.8 mm, Haiz 13.4 mm, Sana'a 7.5 mm, Amran 7.5 mm, Mahwit 1.5 mm, and Raymah 0.1 mm.

The center warned citizens of thunderstorms, staying in or crossing flood channels and ground bridges during and after rainfall and flash floods, and of mud and rock slides on mountain roads.

It also warned seagoers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts.
